The newly refurbished Norwegian Spirit broke booking day sales records last Friday ahead of her entrance to Australian waters, setting high hopes for a strong 2021/2022 domestic season.

Norwegian Cruise Line has seen an unprecedented number of bookings for sailings on Norwegian Spirit across the range of eight, 10- and 12- day itineraries departing from Sydney and Auckland.

The top-performing itinerary is currently a sailing from Auckland to Sydney in early 2022.

Norwegian Cruise Line Director of Sales, Australia and New Zealand, Damien Borg said the new record is triple the amount of bookings for the equivalent period last year seen for Norwegian Jewel’s local sailings.

“We’ve never seen our domestic product being booked so quickly, or so far in advance, a great indication that Aussie and Kiwi travellers are wanting to explore the beauty of their own backyard,” he said.

Mr Borg also said Norwegian have seen more new-to-brand bookings than ever before. “We are definitely seeing an upswing in interest from local travellers in our close-to-home sailings, reflected in the outstanding bookings,” he said.

Norwegian Spirit’s inaugural local season kicks off late 2021 and offers a collection of port-intensive itineraries departing from Sydney and Auckland for guests to explore the newly enhanced vessel, offering reimagined and refined adult-centric spaces, fresh staterooms and 14 new venues.

More updated elements include the second Onda by Scarpetta restaurant at sea, a doubled-in-size Mandara Spa, an expanded Pulse Fitness Center and the adult-only retreat Spice H2O.

Those looking to book with Norwegian before October 12th of this year for the Norwegian Spirit can take advantage of the current ‘Close to Home’ sale. The sale is offering guests the chance to save up to AU$500 off their cabin fare on any of Norwegian Spirit’s Australia and New Zealand itineraries.

For a limited time, guests will also receive all five choices from NCL’s popular ‘Free at Sea’ offer, including a free beverage package, free shore excursion credit, free specialty dining package, free Wi-Fi package and access to NCL’s ‘3rd and 4th’ guest sail at a reduced rate’ (on select sailings)

Latitudes members can also save an additional 15% off their cruise fare on all sailings from 1 April 2020.
