The National Travel Industry Awards 2022 gala brought some of the biggest names of the travel industry together and celebrated the year of travel and exploration gone by. Norwegian Cruise Line was the big winner among cruise, with a few agents also recognised for their excellence.

Australia Federation of Travel Agents CEO Dean Long said: “The NTIAs 2022 was truly a night remember. This is in no small part due to the high calibre of entries we received the exemplary support travel professionals provided to their clients this year.

“Judging by some of the stories we heard about on the night, I know the travel industry will continue rising to overcome any challenges, just as we have already done over the course of the pandemic.

“Our resilient travel community is our greatest strength, and moving forward AFTA will continue our focus on harnessing the skills and expertise across our network to benefit our industry, our clients and our businesses.”

NCL took out two awards, winning Most Outstanding Industry Support in the cruise category and also Most Outstanding Marketing Campaign in the supplier category. The Walk for Wellness involved users tracking their steps, which would walk them through an interactive map with $16,000 worth of prizes up for grabs along the way.

Some other winners across the cruise world included Tenille Hunt of Quark Expeditions for Most Outstanding Sales Executive and My Cruises for Most Outstanding Online Travel Agency.

CLIA Australasia also took out the Most Outstanding Travel Industry Training Institution, capping off a great night for cruise.
