MSC Cruises has confirmed that it will be delivering two new 6,300-passenger ships two years early.

The two Meraviglia-Plus cruise ships will be delivered in 2019 and 2020 and will come complete with a fine art gallery, fully of real art treasures from some of Italy’s most famous museums.

Each of the ships will also feature a remarkable LED dome ceiling in the Italian promenade of boutiques, cafes and bars, famous on MSC’s ships. The LEF dome will change the mood and feel of the space – from blue skies and sunshine during the day to dramatic sunsets and romantic skies at night.

“The changing images and effects will create different atmospheres,” explains Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises CEO.

“You will see birds migrating, clouds and thunder storms – a lot of different things. It’s a first for any cruise ship.”

Mr Onorato said there will also be special interactive mirrors in the clothes shops.

“The mirror will show how you will look in 3D,” he said.

Onboard the two new ships will also be the special Jean-Phillippe Maury Chocolate Bar, which will sever gourmet ice-creams and award-winning crepes.

“You will have a typical Italian high street,” he said. “Less Starbucks and more authentic Italian and French.”
