A secret Development Kitchen, staffed with world-class chefs, is currently designing new dishes fit for the Queen herself – the Queen Mary 2, that is.

Head development Chef and Cunard’s executive chefs Mark and Nicholas Oldroyd have created what they say are ‘lighter and brighter’ menus for all of the new Queen Mary 2 eateries.

The Queen Mary 2 will be getting a Carinthia Lounge, which will serve specialty teas and coffees as well as delicacies from the new patisserie. For champagne lovers, bubbles will be served at afternoon tea.

Cunard are also reviving a new version of the Verandah Grill that was onboard the Queen Mary when it was launched in 1936.

The Verandah is the reincarnation of the historic restaurant and will serve contemporary French cuisine. The Verandah also has a special tableside theatre so guests are able to watch shows while they dine. The interiors also replicate the furnishings on the original Queen Mary.

It comes as the famous line considers an all-inclusive style fare for passengers in its ultra-luxe Grill Class.
