It literally is called Cheers! And it’s the first trial by Carnival Cruise Lines Australia of an alcoholic drinks package for passengers over the age of 18 years.
Start sipping your cocktails as of today, up until the end of January 2020 while Carnival tests the market for the first time onboard their cruise ships departing Australia.
Of course, certain rules apply. Cheers! retails for AU$119 per person per day on Carnival Cruise Lines’ Australia-based ships.
The package is available on cruises of seven days or longer and must be purchased for the entire duration of the cruise. It allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks at a value of up to AU$20 per drink, per person, per 24-hour period during normal operating hours.
All adults in the cabin must purchase the Cheers! program. Carnival reserves the right to refuse service for any reason, and Responsible Service of Alcohol rules apply.
Jennifer Vandekreeke, VP and General Manager Carnival Cruise Line Australia says the package is being trialled due to the increasing demand from Aussies wanting to keep their trips as simple as possible.
“We had overwhelming demand from our guests looking for the ease and convenience of paying one price for all of their drinks. Offering top-shelf spirits like Grey Goose, Hennessy and Patrón as well as a beautiful selection of domestic and international wines including Prosecco, Cheers! is great value for our guests who appreciate quality beverages,” Ms Vanderkreeke said.
The package includes sparkling wine, domestic and imported wine, beer and hand-crafted cocktails featuring top-shelf brands such as Grey Goose, Hennessy and Patrón. Soft drinks, frozen cocktails and mocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and small bottled water are also included. In addition, it includes discounts for other beverage offerings available onboard, including 25 percent off wines by the glass and spirits outside of the program, beverage seminars and classes and bottles of wine in Nouveau restaurant.
Greetings, the news re drinks package is very welcome. My wife and I have booked on the Carnival Spirit, departing Sydney on March 24th 2020 for a 19 day cruise to Hawaii. If we purchase and pay for two “Cheers” packages in 2019 I assume they will be available for our cruise in 2020?
Cheers

Same package in usa works out to 75 bucks aud
I would never travel with them again. They don’t care about their passengers. I emailed them called them and they couldn’t care less. They put you on hold and tell you they are speaking to their manager but they are not. You think they would at least listen and have some empathy. Very dissapointed
