She started life with Noble Caledonian 33 years ago. She’s sailed the waters of Europe, the Hebridean Islands and even Malaysia. Now, this little luxury ship returns to the Med under the Travelmarvel banner with her old owner APT.

After her attempt to crack the luxury expedition market on the remote islands of Fiji was halted last week by Captain Cook Fiji, the APT group will resume ownership and Caledonian Sky will make a grand return to the Med.

From April to October 2025, there will be 13 itineraries, including two extended combination journeys, offering travellers an array of premium cruising from just $4,995 per person.

The ship carries an average of 100 passengers with a crew of 70, boasting one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in Europe. Accompanied by an experienced Cruise Director and an on-board team, plus expert local guides, guests will uncover the rich history and culture of the region.

Onboard, guests will enjoy a variety of social spaces, dining with a range of included local beer, wine and soft drinks during lunch and dinner, and premium suites with ocean views.

Indeed, Cruise Passenger‘s recent cruise aboard Caledonian Sky, as her fans call her, showed her beautiful wood-lined cabins with brass fittings were resplendent and in fine repair, as is the main dining room. A quick refurb of her back deck to return it to the glory days of al fresco dining is almost all she needs to be perfect for luxury Mediterranean cruising.

Travelmarvel’s CEO, David Cox said: “Thanks to its boutique size, the MS Caledonian Sky allows you to access smaller ports and dock right in the heart of a city or town. With cabins starting at a generous 22sqm, guests will find incredible value in spacious accommodations tailored for comfort and relaxation. A true small ship experience, however with the indulgence of bigger suites.”

“With the ship’s shallow draught, we are able to slip away from the pack, into remote coastal towns or shallow waters. Guests will get a greater insight into authentic Mediterranean local life and on many days, we also stay docked later into the evening so that guests can explore after other tourists have left for the day.”

Cox added, “The brand-new itineraries also feature the must-see sights, with an abundance of free time to either discover Europe at your own pace or join one of the optional sightseeing tours on offer. You can veer away from the tourist track to unearth real gems, hidden along back streets. Or perhaps you feel like an afternoon off to just relax. It’s up to you.“
