Australia’s biggest yet cruise season passed another milestone with the arrival of the first Royal Caribbean ship, Brilliance of the Seas.

She will quickly be followed by Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas as the line ramps up trips from Sydney and Brisbane.

Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Royal Caribbean International, said: “This is just the beginning of a bold summer as we look forward to a bumper season packed with three ships delivering the best family holiday experiences from Australia.”

What’s onboard Brilliance of the Seas

She offers Royal Caribbean’s signature rock climbing wall overlooking the ocean, a rotating Starquest bar with 180-degree views and dining options including the family-style Italian trattoria, Giovanni’s Table, fresh sushi at Izumi and the intimate and exclusive multi-course Chef’s Table.

Royal Caribbean will be offering a six-month season of 5- to 18-night cruises from Fiji and the Loyalty Islands to closer-to-home destinations like Port Douglas, Melbourne and Kangaroo Island.

Brilliance of the Seas will offer longer journeys of 16 and 18 nights along Australia’s Top End and West Coast, as well as the New Zealand Sounds. The two holidays can be combined to enjoy an epic 34-night Australia and New Zealand adventure.

Meanhwhile Cruise Passenger’s new guide to Sydney for cruise passengers, produced in in association with NSW Ports, was proving popular with guests. Hundreds took copies to ensure they Sydney stay helped local businesses.
