Scenic’s second luxury discovery yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, will be christened by godmother and former NASA astronaut Dr Kathy Sullivan tomorrow in a glittering ceremony in Malaga, Spain – marking the line’s continued push into small ship ocean cruising.

Scenic recently revealed its 2024-2025 itineraries, with the new ship expanding the line’s reach across 350 ports, 49 countries and all seven continents.

The discovery yacht will be headed for Australian shores come April 2024, with explorations of the Kimberley pencilled in for the luxurious vessel. This will make Scenic Eclipse II the first Scenic ship to ever sail in Australian waters, a special opportunity since Scenic was founded in Australia some 40 years ago.

After the Kimberley sailings, there will be options to sail out of a range of other local ports including Hobart, Sydney, Queenstown, Darwin, Auckland and more.

Anthony Laver, Scenic Group, General Manager Sales & Marketing APAC says the demand for ultra-luxury voyages led not just to the Australian sailings, but also the decision to station Scenic Eclipse II in the Southern Hemisphere for the next two years.

“With less than 12-months until Scenic Eclipse II arrives into the Sydney Harbour on 20th April 2024, we are seeing significant local demand for these ultra-luxury voyages, which are unlike any other ultra-luxury cruising experience in the region. Our new Discovery Yacht will then embark on her inaugural 9-Day Chairman’s Voyage: East Coast & Reefs, then continuing to circumnavigate Australia, before being based in Southern Hemisphere over the next two years”.

Following the Aussie sailings, a range of other Southern Hemisphere adventures will proceed, with sailings scheduled across Asia, the South Pacific, East Antarctica, the Ross Sea and more.

Mr Laver said, “The expansion of our Scenic fleet to two Discovery Yachts, as well as the release of our new Worldwide Discoveries Brochure marks a major milestone in Scenic’s 37-year history”.

Delivered with our signature world-class crew and Discovery Team, ultra-luxury experiences and state-of-the-art technology”.
