Sydney Harbour saw a return to its busiest today with the Carnival Splendor leaving on its first cruise, and Pacific Explorer and the all-new Pacific Adventure passing at Fort Denison.

Both Explorer and Adventure sounded their horns as they swapped places on the harbour in what promises to be a big cruise season.

The Explorer is off to New Caledonia on another first – opening up this destination to cruise after a long COVID lockdown.

Pacific Explorer passes Pacific Adventure at Fort Denison

Carnival Splendor set off on her first cruise tonight.

This month will see Majestic Princess and Celebrity Eclipse arrive at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, followed by Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas – signalling the true return of the premium big ships.
