The arrival of the world’s largest ship, Symphony of the Seas, is just around the horizon with the Royal Caribbean ship passing the first of its sea trials.
These sea trials are undertaken in the final months of construction before ships are delivered to test the ship’s engine, manoeuvrability, communications, propellers and navigation systems.
The finishing touches are being made to the world’s largest ship, and pictures from The Daily Mail show just how stupendous this new vessel will be.
The ship can accommodate nearly 6,700 passengers and will be the first to have a two-storey family suite, decked out with a slide from the kids’ bedroom to the living area. Royal Caribbean have said they have revamped the famous Boardwalk which on Oasis-class ships, have kids’ carousels, burger restaurants as well as evening parades. The line also has a new restaurants including a specialty seafood eatery.
She’ll have dozens of loungers and bars as well as some awesome new entertainment offerings from Broadway shows to adrenalin pumping activities like ziplining across the ship, rock climbing and much more.
Symphony of the Seas is the sister ship to the current world record holder, Harmony of the Seas. Symphony will be 1,000 tonnes larger than her sister and she’ll have new features which are yet to be revealed.
Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class vessels are the largest at sea – more than 30 per cent larger than the next size of cruise ships.
She will be debuting next month and will sail out of Barcelona for her first few months. She’ll then move to Miami to operate voyages from the Caribbean.
