Your adventure starts in Sydney where you will be embark on the Indian Pacific for your relaxing train journey as it makes its way through the Blue Mountains. Here you will enjoy fine dining at the Queen Adelaide Restaurant while the changing landscape unfolds before your window.
Your first stop is Broken Hill where you will explore the historic mining town before arriving in Adelaide. Here you will disembark and enjoy an overnight hotel stay.
After a morning of leisure exploring the city with its laneway restaurants and churches, you will embark on the 120-passenger PS Murray Princess for your serene cruise on the Murray River for a taste of a bygone era exploring the Murray Bridge, the historic Roundhouse before mooring for the evening at Salt Bush Flat.
You will learn about the local flora and fauna when you are taken on a guided tour of the Salt Bush Flat the next morning. As you travel downstream, you will be able to spot amazing river birdlife including darters, herons and egrets before enjoying a farewell Captain’s dinner and dance.
You will spend the next three nights in Adelaide. Escape to Glenelg, the charming seaside town set in picturesque surroundings or simply go for a stroll along the city’s wide boulevards. Drop by the Art Gallery of South Australia for a spot of culture then lose yourself at the bustling Central Market for a taste of the best locally produced charcuterie and cheese.
Adelaide is renowned for its premium wine which you can experience at a wine tasting tour in Barossa Valley’s Pindarie Wines and Lambert Estate. You will also be taken to the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company to taste some delicious home-made chocolates paired with Vineyard Road’s handcrafted wines.
You will re-embark the Indian Pacific to continue your train journey to Perth, enjoying the sweeping views of the Nullabor Plains before stopping at Cook, in the middle of nowhere. Sip a cocktail at the Outback Explorer Lounge before arriving at your last destination in Perth, more than 4000 kms away.
You will disembark at WA’s capital city of Perth after lunch and have a gentle wander around the cosmopolitan city. The next day, you will be taken on a leisurely Captain Cook cruise to the Swan Valley where you will be treated to a two-course, mouth-watering lunch at Sandalford Estate with wine tastings, of course.
With a whole day ahead of you, you can visit Kings Park, the Botanic Gardens, Elizabeth Quay or even go on an leisurely gondola ride on the Swan River.
