Disney’s Frozen to be turned into stage show

Disney’s animated hit Frozen will debut as a musical on the high seas. The film will be turned into a stage show for Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wonder.

Frozen, A Musical Spectacular will debut on the Disney Wonder which will be sailing out of Galveston, Texas.

Like the animated version, the shipboard version follows the story of two sisters, Anna and Elsa as they embark on a journey to discover the meaning of love and sisterhood.

Let It Go, the movie’s powerful and emblematic ballad will be transformed into a “full-fledged stage spectacle with real-life magic.” There will be snow flurries as well as other special effects.

The show will be led by Tony-Award nominated director Sheryl Kaller as well as a production team which have worked on Broadway shows like Peter and the Starcatcher, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and more.

The show includes puppetry for characters like Sven and Olaf, created by Michael Curry, whose work featured in Disney’s The Lion King.
