Writer,
  • Princess Cruises has been sailing for 50 years in Australia, and wants to celebrate this special milestone.
  • Share your memories and go into the draw to WIN one of four double passes to a ship tour of the Grand Princess and a special lunch.
  • Share your stories with pictures and we will share them with Princess’ huge Australian audience and in a commemorative magazine feature.

Do you remember the days when hair was big, collars were wide and the disco balls were even bigger?

As Princess Cruises celebrates 50 years of cruising in Australia, weโ€™re inviting Australians who sailed with Princess in the 1970s, โ€™80s and โ€™90s to share their treasured memories, photographs and stories from a truly golden era of cruising.

Plus, you and a friend can win a day onboard the Grand Princess, which includes a ship tour and lunch, when the ship arrives in Sydney at the end of 2026.

For many people, a Princess cruise wasnโ€™t just a holiday โ€“ it was a milestone, a romance, a family adventure, or the start of a lifelong love of travel.

And for all, the crew on board made the journey all the more memorable.

Maybe you still have a photo of yourself dressed up for formal night, posing under sparkling lights, or dancing to the greatest hits of the time. Perhaps you travelled with your kids, parents or grandparents and still remember the magic of your first cruise. Or maybe you were with a group of friends, living it up on the high seas and collecting stories you still laugh about today.

We would love to hear about the most special moments on your trip and how Princess helped make it happen:

  • Did you marry aboard a Princess ship?
  • Was there a proposal โ€“ or a romantic holiday romance?
  • Was there a crew member who made your journey unforgettable?
  • Did you visit a destination or see a sight that stayed with you forever?
  • Do you have photos of the ship, the outfits, the entertainment or the ports you visited?

Whether your memory is funny, heartfelt, romantic or simply full of nostalgia, we want to help bring these stories to life and celebrate the role Princess Cruises has played in Australian travel for half a century.

Princess is now Australiaโ€™s oldest cruise line โ€“ and still going strong today, winning awards and our hearts. We are compiling a collection of stories and photographs to honour this remarkable era of cruising and to remind us all of the joy, glamour and adventure Princess Cruises brought to Australian passengers.
