Costa Mediterranea nicknamed “A palatial reception” is a classical Italian styled and inspired ship. It has a variety of dance floors and venues throughout. An 8 deck high Atrium can be found in the lobby with two grand stairways. The decor is inspired by many Italian places. In 2008 the ship was refurbished and 44 cabins were converted to Samsara Spa Cabins. Guests in these cabins get additional spa amenities.

660 of the 1,057 cabins have a balcony. All cabins include a phone, safe, minibar and hair dryer, attached in the vanity drawer. There is a flat-screen TV; and bathroom amenities such as soap and shampoo.  Additional amenities are included depending on the cabin and category.

There are a wide variety of choices for food choices on Costa Mediterranea.The Ristorante Degli Argentieri is one of the ship’s main dining areas, it offers open seating during breakfast and lunch with set seating for dinner. Ristorante Wellness serves up healthy dishes for guests on board.  Club Medusa, Ristorante Buffet Perla del Lago offers a wide variety of food buffet style. Afternoon tea is available for guests between 4-5pm daily.  Majority of the food choices onboard have an Italian flavor, from pizzas to pastas. A variety of bars are found onboard as well.

There are 11 bars and show lounges on board each varying in the entertainment they provide for guests on board. Some of the lounges have a dance floor such as the Salone Orienta which has a dance floor and piano. The Lounge Talia has a dance floor, stage, provides live entertainment. Ischia Spa is a wellness center located on two levels of the ship. On decks 9 and 10, fitness classes are available at Palestra Olimpia gym that offers a range of cardiovascular and weight training equipment.

There are a variety of activities and venues onboard  for children of all ages. Activities are arranged and organized by the staff onboard Costa Mediterranea. Dedicated play areas are located on the ship for children and teens. The Squok Club is the main venue for activities for children ages 3 -11.  Children can engage in arts and craft activities, play Playstation, or participate in organized games such as treasure hunts and bingo. The Teens Club is available onboard and offered to children who are 12 – 17 years of age. Teens are invited to participate in organized sports competition, play games and dance. There is a waterslide, reaching 2 decks high that guests of all ages enjoy.
