It’s a girl – delivered 37,000 feet in the air.

When a passenger on board an Emirates flight, went into labour, two Carnival Cruise Line nurses, Christine Anne and John helped deliver a healthy baby girl. The newborn has been named Sky.

The two crew members from the cruise ship Carnival Breeze, were being repatriated from London to Manila and were looking forward to being reunited with their families.

Half through their 14-hour flight, there was an announcement asking if there were any medical personnel on board who could help with a “situation.”

The two nurses promptly responded – not knowing what to expect and helped deliver a very special baby girl.

“It was a very special Father’s Day gift to a very surprised family,” a Carnival spokesperson told Fox News.

Coincidentally, the nurses were not meant to be on board the Emirates flight. They were supposed to take another flight a few days before.

“But apparently, it was all meant to be,” added the spokesperson.

“All of us at Carnival express our pride and appreciation to Christine Anne and John and a lifetime of good fortune to baby Sky,” the line said in a Facebook post.
