In Short:

Royal Caribbean's megaship Hero of the Seas features a 12-person treehouse suite which costs more than $250,000 a week to book.

  • Royal Caribbean’s Hero of the Seas, set to launch in August 2027, now holds the title as the largest cruise ship in the world.
  • It boasts a wild feature, the three-deck Ultimate Family Treehouse suite for 12 people which is capturing everyone’s attention and imagination.
  • The suite comes with everything a family could dream of for the perfect stay – and a hefty price tag.

While Royal Caribbean’s massive Icon class ships are similar in size and structure, they are not created equal.

With each new launch, Royal Caribbean makes sure to add some exciting new details and give each ship its own unique features.

And the record-breaking Hero of the Seas boasts a feature that’s been going viral for its eccentric and design – the Ultimate Family Treehouse.

The design of the staggering three-storey suite is inspired by the jungle but combines elegance with playfulness, creating its own little oasis on the massive Hero of the Seas.

Climb inside the treehouse and you’ll you find the Teen Hideout, a dedicated two-deck space for teens, which even has its own private games room. There’s also the Outdoor Oasis, a rooftop balcony that brings not only ocean views but also a private whirlpool. Beyond this, you can find different bedrooms and spaces to make sure all guests are accommodated.

That being said, enjoying this room won’t come cheap. While costs can differ sailing-to-sailing, to enjoy a week in the treehouse with your family you’re likely looking at upwards of an eye-watering $265,000.

The suite does sleep up to 12 people at a time, making the week about $22,000 per person, still an extremely hefty sum for a week at sea.

Of course, at this price, guests in the treehouse also get access to “Star Class” perks like a dedicated personal butler, unlimited dining, the best seats in the house for every show, and direct access to the Surfside water park zone.

For those who don’t have a cool $250,000 lying around, Hero of the Seas sailings start from $2181 for a five-night sailing and $2249 for a seven-night sailing.

The ship will start sailing from September 2027, becoming the third Icon class ship to sail in the Caribbean. Every voyage will visit Royal Caribbean‘s private destination PerfectDay at CocoCay, with other ports split between Eastern and Western Caribbean stops.

For example, a Western Caribbean sailing will visit ports like Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, whereas an Eastern Caribbean sailing will visit ports like Philipsburg in St Maarten and San Juan in Puerto Rico.

The ship will sail out of Miami, while its sister ships Star of the Seas homeports out of Port Canaveral and Icon of the Seas is moving to Galveston Texas for its new homeport destination.
