Scenic group bolsters fleet with three new ships – across Europe and Asia

  • Across the Scenic Group fleet, three brand new ships have been announced.
  • These come alongside other new ships arriving in 2026 and 2027.
  • The new ships will be found across Europe and Asia’s waterways.

Scenic Group has three new luxury river ships coming to its fleet, with the three ships divided between Scenic River Cruises and Emerald Cruises. 

The three new ships will be Emerald Nova, Scenic Aria and Scenic Spirit II.

Glen Moroney, Chairman & Founder, Scenic Group, said: “Our commitment to an additional three new river ships for the Scenic and Emerald Cruises brands reflects our confidence in the strong demand for our unique approach to luxury cruising.

“With Scenic Ikon in build for delivery in 2028 and five Emerald Cruises yachts and river ships already confirmed, this announcement marks the next phase of our strategic fleet growth.”

The ships will bolster Scenic’s fleet amongst a range of other ships that already on the way. Emerald Astra will start sailing on The Rhine, Main and Danube from May 2026 and Emerald Lumi will begin sailing on the Seine from 2027.

The new ships 

Scenic Aria and Emerald Nova 

Scenic Aria and Emerald Nova will serve as new additions to the fleet on the Douro River, sailing alongside Emerald Radiance in Portugal. Both ships will say an 11-day itinerary, and Scenic Aria will offer a second shorter six-day sailing as well, for added flexibility.
Emerald Nova will start sailing from June 2027, and Scenic Aria will start sailing in September 2027.

Scenic Spirit II 

Due to increased interest for the region, Scenic will be expanding its presence on the Mekong River, with Scenic Spirit II set to start sailing from early 2028. The ship will explore Vietnam and Cambodia, offering authentic Asian experiences.
