- Carnival Cruise Line is bringing Christmas to Vanuatu with special gifts and a sackload of spirit.
- Carnival Adventure set off this week for its Christmas cruise with gifts for kids in the Pacific.
- And the guests on board, tucking into turkey and the trimmings, also get to share the Christmas goodwill.
Carnival Splendor and Carnival Adventure are both loaded up with bundles of gifts, bound for the children of Vanuatu. The ships are slightly larger than traditional Santa sleighs, but they are set to bring waves of joy to kids across Port Vila and Mystery Island when they dock over the Christmas period as part of their South Pacific sailings.

Itโs an act of goodwill that Carnival Cruise Line continues to do each year as a dedicated effort to contribute to the island nation, one of the key destinations in the cruise linesโ South Pacific itineraries. This year, hundreds of gifts will be handed out on December 22, in Port Vila on Carnival Adventure, and on the same day at Mystery Island from Carnival Splendor. And thereโs something for every age. Gifts range in age group from babies right up to teens and include puzzles, books, pencils, sporting equipment and games.

It’s not the only festive fun planned for the cruises, as Carnival Adventure makes her jolly way around a 10-day South Pacific voyage visiting New Caledonia and Vanuatu, with 3255 guests onboard. The crew will be dressed in their festive best to deliver the gifts. The ship has also been decked out in her sparkly best with Christmas decorations adorning the atrium, plus a stunning Christmas Gingerbread display overlooking the festive space and even a visit from the talented kids at Waitara Public School choir who performed a special array of Christmas carols for guests as they boarded Carnival Adventure in Sydney this week.

All four of the Carnival Cruise Line ships in Australian waters will be sailing dedicated Christmas cruise itineraries this year, with a total of 12,000 guests amongst them. To celebrate, the ships will be carrying their fair share of Christmas supplies. 10,000 bottles of champagne, 32,000kgs of fresh fish and seafood, 25,000 Carnival melting chocolate cakes, 350,000kgs of Australian grown fruit and vegetablesโฆ and a partridge in a pear tree. Ok, maybe not partridge in the pear tree, but Cruise Passenger suspects Carnival would have, if they could have made it fit.
