Day 1: Grand France

You can now save up to 50 per cent on Uniworldโ€™s Grand France, a 15-day itinerary from Paris to Arles in 2026 which departs on July 26, 2026. This is your chance to soak up the romance, culture and history of France which over the years, have attracted many Australians to book a cruise holiday in France. You will experience France from north to south, sailing on the lavishly appointed S.S. Joie de Vivre or the striking S.S. Catherine across three rivers and visiting Giverny, charming Viviers and Lyon. You will also experience one of the most spectacular golf courses in France high on the cliffs of Etretat and the beaches of Normandy.

No visit to France is complete without a stay in Paris. Get ready to be charmed by its eclectic neighbourhoods, the grandeur of its awe-inspiring monuments and architecture and the cosmopolitan elegance of its boulevards. Indulge in some retail therapy when you walk along the Champs-Elysees and admire the Arc de Triomphe.

After you board your ship, you will sail to Giverny, made famous by the impressionist master, Claude Monet where he lived and worked for 40 years. As you stroll through the beautiful grounds, you will spot the famous Japanese bridge and water garden shaded by weeping willows. Monetโ€™s house remains furnished as it was when he lived there with his collection of Japanese engravings.

You can go on a bike tour to visit the hilltop Chateau de La Roche-Guyon and its stunning gardens with sweeping views over the Seine River. You will also visit the Saint-Samson church, an old dungeon and the beautiful village of Chateau de La Roche, billed as one of the most stunning in all of France.

At Rouen, the city with a hundred bell towers, you can go for a walking tour and explore its cobblestoned alleyways and half-timbered houses of the Old Town. Keep a lookout for the bronze cross marking the most famous death in the city โ€“ where the English burned Joan of Arc at the stake.

At Versailles, you will visit the magnificent Palace and the royal apartments where Louis XVI and Marie Antionette fled in 1789. Note the lush silk draperies, gilded beds and porcelain ornaments reflecting the extravagance of the 18th century royaltyโ€™s lifestyle.

Climb the grand staircase and enter the jaw-dropping Hall of Mirrors stateroom where the French ruler held court.

When the ship returns to Paris you will disembark and transfer by high-speed train to Lyon to begin the next stage of your voyage to taste the finer things of French living  – wine drinking.

If you love fine wine, you will enjoy visiting the twin cities of Tournon and Tain-lโ€™Hermitage. You will taste the regionโ€™s famous Cotes du Rhone, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage wines. These wines are produced from the Syrah grapes which grow on the steep slopes fringing the river. After tasting the wine, make sure you stop at the popular Valrhona chocolate factory to snap up some essential gifts.

You will also visit the walled city of Avignon and the provencal town of Arles which so inspired Van Gogh that he painted more than 200 paintings there.

This grand voyage combines the best of Paris, Normandy, Burgundy and Provence.

Day 2: Grand Highlights of Italy and Slovenia

You can save $1500 pp on this 14-day itinerary of Italy and Slovenia. Before you embark on your Italian adventure, you will spend three days in Ljubljana, the little, charming capital city of Slovenia. You will be captivated by its pastel-coloured buildings. Ljubljana  used to be the centre of art and learning in the 15th century, attracting scholars, sculptors and artists from across Europe to live in the city. Take a ride in the glass funicular to Ljubljana Castle to explore the historic fortress and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. The next day you will be taken to Lake Bled, a beautiful attraction surrounded by forest-covered mountains. In the centre of the lake is the iconic island occupied by a tiny church.

You will then transfer to Venice to begin your cruise on the Venetian Lagoon aboard S.S. La Venezia, decorated with Murano glass to pay homage to Venetian aesthetics of the early 20th century. During your cruise, you will be taken to a private evening lighting ceremony at St Markโ€™s Basilica, explore the colourful facades of Burano and sail south to Chioggia. You will end your Italian adventure with a stay in the capital city of Rome.

To fully soak up the Italian culture and tradition, it is recommended that you go on walking tours of the different ports of call. At Burano, known for its lace-making tradition, stroll through the town and visit a historic lace-making atelier to see how the delicate work is done.

At Padua, you will appreciate the cityโ€™s great squares, churches and palaces on a walking tour. Make sure you stop for lunch at a local cafรฉ.

At Burano, make time to see the renowned glassblowing artisans of Murano at work -they are the best in the world.

When the ship calls at Chioggia, a fishing village founded in the fifth century, which today still functions as a thriving fishing port and fish wholesaler. Chioggia is also known for its outdoor market which sells almost everything at more affordable prices. You can also go on an excursion to a country villa and taste the wine โ€“ Dominio di Bagnoli is one of the oldest wine producers in the region.

The next day you will join a sailing excursion to the UNESCO-protected Po Delta where the Po River and Adriatic Sea meet. As you sail the scenic wetlands, bird-watchers will have a field day spotting rare species. Look out for red deers, pink flamingos and horses as they often graze near the water.

From Venice you will transfer to Rome where you will spend time soaking the cityโ€™s infectious vibe and exploring attractions such as the Sistine Chapel and St Peterโ€™s Basilica.
