Four new ships and six new itineraries are set to launch for luxury boutique river cruise line Uniworld in 2027. Three of the new ships will be in the Super Ship category with S.S. Audrey, S.S. Marlene, and S.S. São Rafael and will offer itineraries on Portugal’s Duoro River. The fourth ship will be a sleek expedition yacht Aqua Blu, offering sailings to islands with rare access of Indonesia and Singapore, a first for the brand.
The new ships
The S.S Audrey and S.S. Marlene
Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich are the inspirations for these 2027 additions to the fleet. They will have a similar design and layout to sister ship S.S Emilie which debuted earlier this year. S.S. Emilie pays homage to Gustav Klimt with Art Nouveau features and bold, gold accented tones. Audrey and Marlene will both remain loyal to their European heritage, which remains in keeping with the Uniworld theme of bringing local stories to life onboard the ships. The ships will be sailing the rivers of Europe, while capturing the flair of elegance and grace the screen stars were renowned for.
S.S. São Rafael
Fellow Super Ship, the S.S. São Rafael, is brother ship to the S.S. São Gabriel, will continue to expand Uniworld’s popular Douro River voyages in Portugal. The names, like the sister ships, pay homage to a legacy of remarkable personalities in history. In Vasco da Gama’s first voyage to India in 1497, São Gabriel served as the flagship, while São Rafael sailed alongside under the command of Paulo da Gama.
Aqua Blu
Sleek new expedition yacht, Aqua Blu will be operating in partnership with Aqua Expeditions and will make up the final addition to the 2027 fleet debut. Offering just 15 suites, this will be an exclusive sailing of just two voyages per year, guests will enjoy the rare access to islands of Indonesia and Singapore.
