Residential cruise company Crescent Seas is targeting high net worth individuals with a spare $1 million to $12 million to enjoy a home at sea with everything taken care of, says brand ambassador for Australia and New Zealand, Jason Gelineau.
In addition, Crescent will be charging owners an annual service fee which will cover staffing, dining, housekeeping and “global connectivity,” Gelineau told Cruise Passenger.
“The focus is very clear: high net worth individuals and families who value travel, privacy and wellness and who see the appeal of consolidating multiple residences into one, a home that takes them anywhere in the world. My role as brand ambassador for Australia and New Zealand is to introduce the concept locally, working with partners and advisors to connect with those who resonate with this lifestyle,” he said.
Australians have an appetite for this lifestyle and will be enthusiastic buyers of residences at sea, he added.
“Australians are adventurous, globally minded and among the world’s most enthusiastic cruise travellers. Previous residential cruise ventures have received strong support from Australians, showing there is an appetite for this lifestyle. Australians, in particular, value both the comfort of home and the ability to explore the world, making this a natural fit.”
Crescent Seas acquired Seven Seas Navigator from Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Insignia from Oceania Cruises which will be refitted and converted into residences at sea. It recently announced its third ship, The Ocean which is a new build joining its fleet in 2032. Crescent plans to expand its fleet to at least five ships.
Sales for Navigator’s residences have just started and there has been “significant market interest,” Mr Gelineau added.
Each ship will offer private butler service, world-class dining, wellness and spa facilities and connectivity via Starlink. Residents will also be able to play pickleball on board, have sufficient storage space for wine, e-bikes, dive equipment and dedicated co-working spaces designed for those who will continue to work remotely. For golf enthusiasts, a state-of-the-art golf simulator will also be onboard.
Entertainment onboard will focus on enriching cultural programs and bespoke events.
