Hilton’s luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria, has revealed it would enter the cruise game with a new ship and a new itinerary on the Nile River in Egypt.
In April, the hotel brand, along with Middle East for Nile Cruisers, announced the Waldorf Astoria Nile River Experience, a cruise designed to “bring Waldorf Astoria’s signature elegant service to Africa’s longest and most renowned river,” according to the press release.
The hotel brand said it will soon offer four or six-night itineraries, either down the Nile from Luxor, Egypt, to Aswan, Egypt, or up the river in the opposite direction, departing from its own docks.
“Waldorf Astoria is in an incredible new era of luxury, creating unforgettable, immersive experiences in the most sought-after destinations,” Dino Michael, the senior vice president and global head of Hilton Luxury Brands, said in a statement obtained by Travel + Leisure.
“This new destination experience offers guests a spectacular view of Egypt, and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard this one-of-a-kind experience when it launches next year.”
The ship will have five decks and just 29 suites, and on board the light-filled, elegant vessel will be a state-of-the-art fitness centre, spa, and a rooftop deck.
There will also be distinctive food and drink experiences, including Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley, a brasserie serving Egyptian, Mediterranean, and international cuisine, and a rooftop deck including Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley, a brasserie serving Egyptian, Mediterranean, and international cuisine, and a rooftop deck.
On top of the Nile River Cruise Experience, Hilton has 14 hotels across the nation and is “set to triple its presence” there through its lifestyle brands.
There will be new Waldorf Astoria properties opening in New York and in the future, Sydney, London, Jaipur and more.
The ship will launch in 2026 and bookings will open soon.
