Celebrity River Cruises to be all-inclusive when it launches in 2027

  • Celebrity has teased new details around its new river cruise offerings.
  • The first ships will sail on the Rhine and Danube during their first season in 2027.
  • Celebrity River Cruises will also be all-inclusive when it launches.

Celebrity River Cruises will sail the Rhine and Danube in its first season in 2027 and has teased more developments around the passenger experience.

The line earlier this year announced it would be venturing into river cruising, and the new brand, Celebrity River Cruises, will start to take bookings this year for European itineraries.

Celebrity Cruisesโ€™ President, Laura Hodges Bethge, spoke about the brand developments during the last day of Celebrity Cruisesโ€™ annual Presidentโ€™s Cruise sailing.

She said the lineโ€™s first wave of itineraries would debut on the Rhine and Danube โ€“ two of the largest rivers in Europe.

The ships, which were previously discussed when the Celebrity made the announcement, would rival the size of ships like AmaWaterways’ AmaMagna.

Hodges Bethge also said the intention was to make the river experience all-inclusive, according to Travel Pulse.

She also said the brand will have a total of 10 river vessels in its fleet by 2029.

โ€œI can tell you from being involved in the design from the beginning that itโ€™s absolutely going to be transformative, and if youโ€™ve taken a river cruise before, I can promise you that youโ€™re never going to want to river any other way,โ€ Hodges Bethge said.

โ€œWeโ€™re still fine-tuning the details,โ€ she continued. โ€œThe intention is that it is all included โ€” so, included drinks, Wi-Fi, and then one shore excursion per port that you would get to select from. And then, thereโ€™d be opportunities if you wanted to upgrade and things of that nature, you can always do that.โ€
