If your idea of cruising involves sprawling suites, Champagne on tap, and the best in culinary cruise offerings, then Silver Moon might just be your dream ship.  Launched in 2020 as part of Silversea’s next-gen fleet, Silver Moon was designed for travellers who prefer their adventures with a side of slow mornings, long lunches, and proper linen napkins.

The good news is Australia will get a taste of the Silver Moon style later this year, when she repositions from Singapore and sails around our cost and journeys to New Zealand.

Whether you’re chasing glaciers in Alaska or sipping wine off the coast of New Zealand, the experience is less “tick-the-box sightseeing” and more “settle in and savour it.” If you’re curious what life looks like aboard this floating boutique hotel, keep reading for all the details for the ship’s upcoming season.

2025/26 Itineraries and Destinations

In 2025 and 2026, Silver Moon is cruising to some amazing destinations that any travel-loving passenger should see in their lifetime. First up, she’s heading back to Alaska mid-2025, with sailings between Vancouver and Seward. If jaw-dropping fjords, calving glaciers, and bald eagles are your thing, this is one of the best ways to see them. Itineraries are 7 to 10 days and include stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Sitka, along with plenty of scenic cruising through the Inside Passage and around Hubbard Glacier.

In November, Silver Moon gets a change of scenery and hemisphere. A Singapore to Melbourne repositioning cruise is set to happen, complete with overnight stays in Bali, plus stops in Busselton and Kangaroo Island for a bit of nature and local charm.

Then it’s time to settle into a series of Australia and New Zealand itineraries. If you’ve ever fancied exploring your own backyard (or your neighbour’s), these routes deliver. Expect stops like Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, and the fjords of the South Island, plus plenty of time to explore Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart too.

Accommodation Details

Every single cabin on the Silver Moon is a suite, every suite has ocean views, and almost all of them come with a private veranda. You’ll get generous living space in each room and a sense of calm, spacious comfort no matter what you choose.

Classic, Superior, and Deluxe Veranda Suites offer the basics. They’re generous in size (starting at 31 square metres) and come with plush beds, a walk-in wardrobe, stunning marble bathrooms, and, of course, that private balcony to soak up the sea breeze. They’re subtly different in layout and location, but equally serene no matter which one you’re in.

If you’re not fussed about the balcony, the Panorama Suite gives you all the same luxury perks but swaps the veranda for a large picture window. It’s a great pick if you’re more into ocean views than outdoor lounging.

If you want a bit more room to stretch out, the Silver Suite is perfect for longer stays or if you like having separate living and sleeping areas. The suite’s finest asset lies in the fact that it feels more like an apartment than a cabin and is a solid middle ground between comfort and indulgence.

Finally, we have the top-tier accommodation: Royal, Grand, and Owner’s Suites. These stylish apartment suites offer full living and dining areas, powder rooms, espresso machines, double vanities, walk-in showers, and verandas so spacious you’ll forget you’re even on a ship.

Wherever you end up, the little details make it special. A comfortable living space with Bulgari bath amenities, a fully stocked mini-bar with your favourites, a pillow menu, and a bottle of Champagne waiting when you walk in. Your butler will even unpack your bags if you’d rather hit the deck with a spritz than organise your suitcase.

Dining and Culinary Experience

One thing the Silver Moon doesn’t do is serve average food. From the get-go, this ship leans hard into the culinary good life.

The headline act is S.A.L.T. (short for Sea and Land Taste), a Silversea signature program where the food matches the place you’re visiting. S.A.L.T. Kitchen serves up local recipes from the region you’re sailing through, S.A.L.T. Bar mixes regional cocktails with ingredients you probably can’t pronounce, and the S.A.L.T. Lab gives you the chance to roll up your sleeves and cook it yourself with a chef guiding you through.

Then you’ve got Atlantide, a crisp, elegant bar-and-grill setup that wouldn’t be out of place in a European capital. The seafood’s top-shelf, the steaks are aged, and the plating is borderline artistic. La Terrazza delivers Italian comfort food with fresh burrata, hand-rolled pasta, and old-school tiramisu.

If you’re feeling casual, you can head to Hot Rocks, where you’ll grill your own steak or prawns on lava stones under the stars. There’s also Kaiseki, which does Japanese haute cuisine at night and sushi by day, plus Silver Note for live jazz and tapas-style bites.

And last but not least: La Dame. This is French fine dining at its silkiest with multi-course menus, fine wines, and a refined setting worthy of a special night. There’s a small surcharge, but if you’re celebrating, this is the place.

Onboard activities

Silver Moon is built for adults who’ve done the whole “kids club and foam party” thing and now just want to relax. That said, children over six months are welcome onboard, and during school holidays, there are occasional youth hosts and kid-friendly activities. But this isn’t a ship that leans heavily into children’s activities.

If you’re travelling as a couple, prepare to be spoiled. Spend a morning in the spa, get a couples’ massage, then hit the thermal suite or the outdoor whirlpools. There’s also a proper fitness centre, yoga and Pilates classes (with ocean views), and a small but stylish casino for those who like a flutter before dinner.

For something more enriching, the Silversea cruise line runs expert-led lectures, destination talks, and cultural deep-dives. You can learn about the region you’re visiting while sipping a cocktail crafted to match it.  And if you just want to do nothing all day long, that’s totally encouraged. Find a sun lounger, grab a book from the library, order a spritz, and watch the sea do its thing.

Deck plan

With just 11 decks (and only 8 accessible to guests), Silver Moon is refreshingly manageable. Here is a breakdown of the ship:

  • Decks 4–11 are mostly filled with accommodation. Suites span across most of these decks, all thoughtfully laid out so you never feel far from anything.
  • Deck 10 is where you’ll find the main pool, ringed by comfy loungers and a pool grill for all-day bites.
  • Deck 6 is dining central: S.A.L.T., Atlantide, La Dame (for fine French dining), and more.
  • Deck 9 hosts the spa, fitness centre, and observation lounge, perfect for panoramic ocean views with zero wind chill.
  • Deck 5 is your go-to for the reception area, the main lounge, and boutiques.

Is everything all-inclusive?

Pretty much, yes. The following are included: meals, drinks, tips, Wi-Fi, and even shore excursions. The only extras are things like fancy wines, spa treatments, and if you decide to splurge at the boutique.

Is there a dress code onboard?

During the day, it’s the attire is relaxed (sundresses, polos, shirts and sandals). At night, it depends. Some evenings are ‘elegant casual’, which means you need to dress it up a little (collared shirts, smart dresses, that kind of thing). On formal nights, people do go all-out with suits and cocktail dresses, but it’s not over-the-top. You won’t need a ball gown unless you really want to wear one.

Is the cruise suitable for solo travellers?

Totally. Solo travellers get looked after on Silversea, and the size of the ship makes it super easy to meet people, especially at the bars or during shore excursions. They even offer reduced solo supplements on certain sailings, which is rare in the luxury cruise world.

What kind of people travel on Silver Moon?

You’ll find a mix. Mostly couples, some on honeymoons or anniversaries, some just escaping the daily grind, but also solo travellers, retired adventurers, and the occasional multi-generational family. If you like good conversation, proper food, and a laid-back vibe, you’ll fit right in.
