Carnival Corporation to build two new ships
One of the world’s largest cruise brands, Carnival Corporation announced overnight it would be building two cruise ships with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri – one for Holladn America Line which will be delivered in 2021 and another for Princess Cruises which will be launched the following year. “We are extremely pleased to formally announce these two new ships and build on the success and popularity of their sister ships already sailing guests around the globe,” said Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation. “Our goal is to exceed expectations of the 11.5 million guests who sail with us each year, and these new ships will offer more opportunities for our guests to create lifelong vacation memories while generating added excitement around the fast-growing global demand for cruise vacations.” Details on the ship will be released closer to launch dates.
MSC starts construction of private island
The premium Italian cruise brand, MSC has started construction of their private island. Located in the Bahamas, the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is set to become a natural paradise to MSC Cruises guests from November 2018. Speaking at a special ceremony earlier this week, MSC’s head of global port development Gianluca Suprani said it will be a haven for guests visiting. “The island has some of the finest aragonite sands in the world and once the work is completed, its surrounding waters will be home again to beautiful corals and rich aquatic life. It will become a truly exclusive destination for MSC Cruises guests to experience the best the Caribbean has to offer.” MSC Seaside and others in the fleet operating in the Caribbean will regularly call at the island.
Nude cruising returns for a second itinerary
The Original Group made headlines last year when it announced it would be hosting the first adults-only, couples-only, “clothing optional” cruise last year. But they have just announced a second itinerary for those willing to let it all hang out. The Desire cruise will set sail from Barcelona to Rome in April 2018 only accepting open-minded couples. The cruise calls at Sete and Marseilles in France, Monte Carlo in Monaco as well as Portofino and Florence in Italy. Onboard will be private playrooms, provocative themed nights, day time events, couples’ workshops, playroom and more.
Carnival Cruise Line introduces new eatery
Guests onboard the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend will be able to try out the new Seafood Corner. Serving snacks or casual dinner, the eatery is right by the pool on the family-fun ships. You’ll be able to feat on fish ‘n’ chips, seafood platters and lobster rolls daily from 4pm. The seafood menu items are an additional cost but sounds delicious!
