Its being hailed as Uniworld’s palatial cruise, equipped with butlers, king-size beds, marble bathrooms, featuring antiques and art collection from Sotheby’s and Christies.

The boutique river cruise line recently made an announcement about launching SS Joie de Vivre that will sail its inaugural cruise across the River Seine in Northern France in 2017. The name as expected reflects the French expression ‘joy of living’.

The new ship will sail Uniworld’s popular Paris & Normandy itinerary, mooring in the heart of Paris. “This will be the most beautiful ship sailing the Seine and will provide every possible comfort for our guests,” said Guy Young, President of Uniworld.

“We made the decision to build a 125-meter ship instead of 135 meters, so she can dock conveniently in the heart of Paris,” he said in an official statement.

With interiors designed by Uniworld’s sister company, Red Carnation Hotels, the new ship’s decor will have rich fabrics, wrought iron home accessories. The state of the art pool will come with a hydraulic facility, transforming into an entertainment area for dance and movies. Restaurants onboard like Pigalle will feature private dining options and wine-pairing meals.
