Seabourn will add a new ultra-luxury ship to its fleet in 2016, to fill capacity when its three smaller ships are delivered to new owners.
Announced late last week, the line signed a Letter of Intent for the construction of a new ultra-luxury cruise ship with Italian shipbuilder, Fincantieri.
The unnamed ship will be used to replace outgoing capacity when Seabourn Pride, Seabourn Spirit and Seabourn Legend are transferred to new owners, Winstar Cruises in April 2014, April 2015 and May 2015.
According to Seabourn president Richard Meadows, the new vessel will be modeled after Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest.
He said: “The experience and the amenities offered by these award-winning ships have raised the bar in ultra-luxury cruising.”
She is expected for delivery during the second half of 2016.
