TUI Cruises’ fourth Mein Schiff-class vessel floated out of the shipyard this week, ahead of the ship’s 2015 launch.
Named Mein Schiff 4 (which translates to ‘My Ship’ in English), the vessel is identical to its three predecessors. It is 294 metres long and 36 metres wide. There are 1,250 cabins onboard plus an entertainment zone featuring restaurants, bars and lounges.
Jan Meyer, the chief executive of shipyard Meyer Turku Oy, said the ship is right on schedule for a September 2015 launch.
The next phase will be outfitted the vessel before trials.
During her inaugural season, Mein Schiff 4 will travel around the Baltic Sea in northern Europe around Norway. She will then sail to on a seven-day voyage to the Canary Islands with visits to Morocco and Madeira.
TUI Cruises has an order for two more Mein Schiff vessels, with Mein Schiff 5 scheduled for delivery in 2016 and Mein Schiff 6 in 2017.
