Travelmarvel has added two new ships to its fleet today, after christening ms Travelmarvel Jewel and ms Travelmarvel Diamond.
Held in Koln, Germany with some 100 VIPs the ships were blessed by Köln Cathedral’s Father Reinhard Friedrichs before godmothers and long serving Travelmarvel employees Trish Bannon and Caroline Cox broke bottles of champagne against the ships.
Following the ceremony guests enjoyed a traditional dance performance from the children of ‘De Pänz us dem ahle Kölle’ who delivered a traditional dance performance.
Godmother of the Diamond, Trish Bannon, said it was an honour to christen a river ship and expects cruisers to enjoy cruising with Travelmarvel as much as she does.
“These are two very beautiful ships, operated by an outstanding crew,” she said.
Travelmarvel Diamond and Jewel are both 135-feet vessels with a capacity of 170 guests each.
Each ship has a dining room, bar and lounge; sun deck, fitness room and hair salon.
