Celebrity Cruises commits $40 million to give Celebrity Millennium a Solstice Class upgrade.
Ahead of her maiden Asia season in 2012-13, the 11-year-old Celebrity Millennium will receive a Solstice Class upgrade to bring her into line with some of the line’s newer vessels.
After the upgrade, which will take place in the Grand Bahama Shipyard in April 2012, Millennium will have the line’s trademark iLounge and Apple store, first introduced on Celebrity Eclipse, and AquaClass passengers will enjoy the addition of the exclusive Blu restaurant.
Most significantly, 60 new cabins will be added to the 2,450-passenger ship. Of these, 37 will be exclusive AquaClass spa cabins and a futher 70 of the current cabins will also become spa accommodation.
Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Summit will undergo a similar renovation in November 2011 and January 2012, respectively.
