Virgin and Jetstar have cancelled flights in and out of Denpasar, Indonesia, due to the worsening ash cloud coming from nearby volcano Mt Raung, which erupted on July 2.
The cancellations – now in their third consecutive day – and the danger have caused Denpasar Airport to follow suit; the popular gateway closed overnight and isn’t expected to open until later today.
Some Garuda and Air Asia flights have also been affected.
Travellers are advised to check the website of their chosen airline for updates.
