Tauck has announced its four female cruise directors will collectively serve as godmother to the company’s new riverboat, ms Inspire.

Cruise directors are in charge of the overall guest experience by managing on board entertainment, excursions and dining. There is at least one cruise director on every Tauck ship.

Tauck’s Bridget Ashton, Lynn Hardcastle, Mary Pierik and Eszter Pusztai will christen the line’s first Inspiration-class vessel on 3 April 2014 in Basel, Switzerland.

“Our Tauck Cruise Directors and Tauck Directors have collectively been the face of our company for 89 years,” Tauck chief executive Dan Mahar said.

“They are the direct, critical link between Tauck and our guests, and they do an absolutely incredible job delivering the Tauck experience.”

Inspire will officially enter service on 7 April 2014.

The second Inspiration-class ship, ms Savor, is scheduled to be christened on 21 June in Rudesheim, Germany.

Both Inspire and Savor will be 443 feet long and will carry 130 guests.

They will feature 22 suites measuring 300-square-feet with two French balconies, a pullout couch, a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom; and 32 cabins measuring 225-square-feet.
