Take a bow

Disney Cruise Lines’ Disney Fantasy, which is presently being constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, became whole on Saturday after a 265–ton portion of the ship’s bow was put into place.

The placing of the final building block is a milestone in the ship’s construction, positioning her nicely for her scheduled maiden voyage on March 31, 2012.

While sharing many of the features of the recently launched Disney Dream, the new ship will have special features of her own. These include Europa, a nighttime entertainment district exclusively for adults and a new show at the Animators Palate restaurant, where cartoon characters created by guests come to life and interact with Disney characters.

The ship will sail alternating seven-night cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
