Just received notification from Sydney Ports that we will be having the busiest cruise season to date in Sydney. Here is their release:

•NSW Treasurer and Minister for Ports and Waterways Eric Roozendaal today announced the 2010-11 Sydney cruise season will be the busiest on record – with 154 cruise ship visits scheduled into Sydney Harbour.

The number of cruise ship visits this season confirms Sydney’s importance as Australia’s major cruise hub and its position as the leading cruise destination in Australia,” Mr Roozendaal said.

This season, 154 passenger ships will visit Sydney – about a 30% increase on last year. It is also the first time passenger numbers are expected to break the 300,000 mark, injecting an estimated $190 million into the NSW economy.

For the full list of cruise vessels scheduled to visit in 2010/11 please visit the Sydney Ports Cruise Schedule.

This is a great list and one you might wish to file away. So many ships – so little time.  Thank goodness my leg is slowly getting better as I am looking forward to a lot of ship inspections.
