South Australia receives a $1 million cruising boost

South Australia’s cruising sector received a $1 million boost this week, when P&O Cruises made a record of four calls in the state.

Pacific Pearl made her inaugural call to Port Lincoln on Sunday, followed by a visit to Adelaide on Monday. She then stopped in Kangaroo Island on Tuesday and a made her first call in Robe on Wednesday morning.

The ship was on a six-night cruise from Melbourne and is expected to have injected $1 million into the State.

Senior vice president Tammy Marshall said the line is building closer relationships with South Australia, and will launch its first ever roundtrip cruises from Adelaide in February 2015.

“Australians love exploring their own country and cruising is the perfect way for them to visit towns and cities around the coastline in comfort,” Ms Marshall said.
