Want to snorkel in Antarctica?

The Great Barrier Reef, Grand Cayman and now Antarctica.

Aurora Expeditions has announced it will offer travellers the chance to swim alongside penguins, seals and whales in the freezing cold waters of Antarctica.

Working with Waterproof Expeditions to launch Polar Snorkelling it will be operated on select voyages and will take passengers on daily trips around Antarctica’s sheltered bays, off shore islands and secluded shipwrecks.

Withstanding minus one-degree underwater temperatures, snorkellers will be wearing specially designed Waterproof Snorkel Drysuits, gloves, hood, weight belt, fins, mask and snorkel.

Snorkelling tours will be led by expert polar diving guides who will provide passengers with training before they take a leap.

Polar Snorkelling is available on select Aurora voyages including; Across the Antarctic Circle – 10 to 19 February 2014; Across the Antarctic Circle – 19 to 28 February 2014; Weddell Sea & Antarctic Peninsula – 28 Feb to 11 March 2014; Across the Antarctic Circle – 19 to 28 February 2015; and Weddell Sea & Antarctic Peninsula – 28 Feb to 9 March 2015.

Spaces are limited. Voyage prices are from US$7200 per person and Polar Snorkelling is at US$975pp.
