As of January 2016, Silversea will be offering guests free wi-fi on all of its cruises, including expedition voyages.
Guests sailing in the Owner’s, Grand, Royal, Silver or Medallion suites will have unlimited access to free wi-fi, while everyone else will be limited to one hour per day. Silversea ships have stem-to-stern wi-fi coverage, meaning passengers won’t just have to log on via the public computers at the internet cafe – they can also do so in their room or in public spaces.
Some anger has arisen about the fact that those in higher-class accommodation will receive unlimited wi-fi, but the way we see it, free ANYTHING is a bonus.
“Because we know how important it is for travellers to stay informed and connected, we’re delighted to enhance the all-inclusive Silversea experience with this new benefit,” says Karen Christensen, Silversea’s General Manager & Director of Sales and Marketing Australasia.
Silversea is renowned for its luxurious onboard experience. Its all-inclusive fares cover butler service for all suites; open-seating gourmet dining; champagne, a selection of wines, premium spirits, specialty coffees, bottled water, juices and soft drinks; in-suite bar and dining; round-trip transportation into town (from most ports); and onboard gratuities.
Vote in this year’s special Readers’ Choice Awards
No doubt 2020 will go down in cruise history as the year of the pandemic – a once in a generation event. And this year’s Cruise Passenger Readers’ Choice Awards will reflect it.
