First Australian circumnavigation has been delayed due to Queensland’s flood damage, says shipping website.

Silversea Cruises’ 30-day Australian circumnavigation departure from Sydney was delayed yesterday according to shipping website Seatrade Insider.

The first ever circumnavigation of Australia was due to depart Sydney at 11pm last night, however a spokesperson for the luxury line said the company decided to cancel the ship’s first call in Brisbane due to the recent severe flooding in the region.

The 382-passenger Silver Spirit will now depart at 6.30pm tonight heading straight for the Whitsundays.
