Part of Silversea Cruise’s luxury fleet, Silver Whisper was launched in 2001 and refurbished in 2016. The small ship appeals to well-heeled couples and solo travellers who enjoy European-style service and fine food in elegant surroundings. The 28,258 tonne ship carries 382 passengers and 302 crew.
Silver Whisper is classified as an all-suite cruise vessel. There are 194 outside suites which measure from 287 (Vista Suite) to 1,435 square feet (Grand Suite). Of these, 156 have balconies. Even the smallest suites are spacious and comfortable, with a mini-bar and fridge stocked with guests’ preferred refreshments, writing desk, sitting area, large table, flat-screen television, walk-in closet, Pratesi bed linen and free Wi-Fi.
Silver Whisper has several dining venues. The main dining room, The Restaurant, offers open seating and menus featuring regional specialities unique to the voyage destination. La Terrazza is open for casual, buffet-style breakfast and lunch with indoor or al fresco dining on the outdoor terrace. During the evening, La Terrazza transforms into an à la carte Italian restaurant. Le Champagne serves fine wines complemented by a six-course tasting menu of regionally inspired dishes.
The Spa at Silversea offers a range of therapies including facials, body wraps and massages as well as men’s and women’s saunas and steam rooms. The beauty salon provides a full range of services including hairstyling, manicures and pedicures. The fitness centre is equipped with treadmills and weight machines and has daily classes. There is a pool, two outdoor whirlpools, ping pong, a golf cage and shuffleboard.

– Cruise Passenger
This was a Girls’ Cruise. I took my two daughters and a treasured niece. All, but me, of course, are in their late 40s. My niece was a newbie, but my daughters and I have cruised with Silversea many times. Actually, the Whisper is my favorite SS ship. Aside from being unexpectedly cold and windy, and in spite of a few missable ports (Saguenay and Sept Îles) it was a wonderful cruise. As is usual, the Silversea crew was fantastic…nothing is too much trouble. It always amazes me that the service is so fabulous, the atmosphere is quite formal, and yet there is no hand kissing, no pretentions. The guests are well traveled and friendly. CruisinPashmina
