Exclusive cruise line SeaDream Yacht Club has announced it will be venturing up the Amazon in 2012 aboard SeaDream II, on two 20-day sailings.
Passengers onboard the 112-passenger mega yacht for the inaugural journeys will be able to take a night canoe trip in search of crocodiles, snakes and other Amazonian creatures in Cuxiu Muni, Brazil; get wet while sipping Champagne and nibbling on caviar at the line’s trademark ‘Champagne and Caviar Splash’ on the beach in Brazil; take a riverboat cruise in search of rare pink dolphins; or fly over the Amazon river and jungle in a twin or single-engine plane.
There will also be a naturalist onboard for the sailings, who will give presentations about the region.
The 112-passenger mega yacht will depart Bridgetown, Barbados on February 23, 2012 en route to Manaus in Brazil and Iquitos in Peru, before taking a return journey of the same length back to Barbados via Manaus.
SeaDream Yacht Club’s announcement comes at a perfect time for the cruise line, whose two ships, SeaDream I and II, are currently ranked the fourth and second best cruise ships in the world, according to the 2011 Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships.
Fares begin at US$12,919pp twin-share inclusive of all onboard 5-star dining, drinks from the open bars, nightly cocktail gatherings, wines with lunch and dinner, power and sail watersports (in ports where permitted,) a 50-course golf simulator, onboard gratuities and port charges.
