With just over three months to go until the launch of its first river ship in Southeast Asia, Scenic Spirit, Scenic has revealed new details about its inaugural season in the region.

The 85-metre, 68-passenger Spirit will sail the Mekong River between Ho Chi Minh and Siem Reap from January next year. The ship’s sleek and stylish design has the feel of a super yacht with plenty of outdoor space and huge floor to ceiling windows. With a passenger to crew ratio of almost one to one, Scenic is claiming it will be the most luxurious experience in the region.

Scenic Spirit will have some of the largest suites on the river, starting at 32 square metres, and all will have a separate living area, balcony and walk in wardrobe. Onboard features include a swimming pool, steam sauna and open-air cinema.

Later in 2016, Scenic will also launch a second river ship in the region, the 44-passenger Scenic Aura, which will sail on the Irrawaddy in Myanmar. Aura will cruise between Mandalay and Pyay, including a visit to the famed temples of Bagan, starting from September 2016.

Dining and beverages are all inclusive onboard both ships, with extras like 24 hour room service, a mini bar restocked daily and a late night menu. Menus draw inspiration from the region and dining options include the main Crystal dining room, the River Cafe and an al fresco Teppanyaki Bar open on select evenings.
