Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas is docked in Cairns after negotiating around Cyclone Marcia.
A spokesperson for the line said the precautions were taken as the cyclone battered the Queensland coast..
“Rhapsody of the Seas reduced speed and altered course in order to travel to the east of the weather system and allow safe transit of the ship to Cairns.
“The safety and comfort of our guests and crew members is always our foremost concern. All of our vessels are equipped with the latest in navigational equipment and stabilising technology to ensure the absolute safety and comfort of our guests.”
The ship is on day four of an 11-night cruise.
