Queen Mary 2’s Captain Kevin Oprey got to see his ship from a new point of view in these pictures that perfectly capture the sheer magnitude of the world’s largest ocean liner.
The images were taken a mile off the coast of Benoa Harbour, Bali late last week to commemorate the ship’s 10th anniversary year.
Captain Oprey is seen standing on Queen Mary 2’s bulbous bow as she is seemingly floating at sea.
Although the Captain stayed afloat, two safety boats were standing by during the photo-shoot.
Tenth year celebrations will be held on 9 May 2014 when Queen Mary 2 will join sister ships Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria in Southampton.
You’ll see this image on the cover of Cruise Passenger’s autumn issue, which will be on newsstands from 27 March 2014.
The edition features a 19-page special report on the rivers revolution, a travel guide special on Dubai and reviews.
