Princess Cruises is getting sweeter, with a new onboard chocolate experience featuring custom-crafted desserts, chocolates and wine pairings.

‘Chocolate Journeys’ was created with one of the top 10 chocolatiers in North America, Normal Love.

Mr Love’s desserts will debut on Regal Princess in Spring, and roll out on other Princess ships throughout next year.

Fifteen chocolate dessert designs will be offered in ships’ main dining rooms like the chocolate tart with vanilla mousse and flourless chocolate cake; a unique chocolate tiramisu; and a chocolate pistachio dome with almond and pistachio.

If that doesn’t have you drooling, then how about trying his chocolate and wine pairings like the Norman Love’s exquisite Black™ Single Origin Dark chocolates paired with specific wine varietals designed to enhance the tasting experience.

Captain’s Welcome Reception will also have a few new treats including a glass of bubbly along with ‘Chocolate Love Pop’ truffles, while bars and lounges will have a number of chocolate drinks like the Chocolate Salted Caramel Hard Shake, Chocolate Bacon Bourbon Bliss and Chocolate Chile Margarita.

During formal nights chocolate bites designed by Love will be served and boxed chocolate will be available to purchase from onboard shops.

The line’s president Jan Swartz said worldwide there’s a passion for chocolate.

“So we’re excited to partner with one of the best chocolatiers in the world to bring some additional moments of decadence and delight to our guests with truly amazing chocolate experiences that we know they’ll love,” she said.

Last week, Norwegian Cruise Line also announced new ‘chocolate night’ on its itineraries, which features seven different desserts in each restaurant on the ship.
