With a five ship fleet, 38 itineraries and 191 departures, P&O’s newly announced 2016-2017 season will offer Australian passengers unmatched options for cruising in the region.
New ships Pacific Aria and Eden will join the fleet in late 2015, giving the line the largest homeported fleet in the country.
Two ships will be based in Brisbane year-round and there will be departures from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Cairns, Fremantle and Auckland. Short breaks are a highlight of the program with 84 Sea Break itineraries on offer.
These include four music-themed cruises from Sydney, a cruise from Auckland to Napier for the famed Art Deco Weekend, three- and four-night sailings from Adelaide to Port Lincoln and Melbourne, and four-night breaks from Melbourne to the regional town of Eden on the New South Wales Sapphire Coast.
P&O’s Pacific itineraries will also be expanded with more cruises to Papua New Guinea, including a 10-night Christmas cruise from Brisbane.
P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Sture Myrmell said “we’re taking Australian cruising to the next level with this jam-packed program. With the biggest homeported fleet, we can offer the largest range of itineraries and destinations in the region.”
The line is encouraging guests to book early for the new season with the first 200 passengers to receive extras like priority check-in and tenders, welcome gift packs and onboard credit.
