Mitchell River National Park is one of the Kimberley’s newest parks and is teeming with wildlife. We saw several crocodiles of various sizes and many bird varieties throughout the day.
Sandra and I went our separate ways.
I chose to brave the optional helicopter ride (door wide-open for better photography). It was well-worth the extra money and I got many great aerial shots. The Mitchell Falls and plateau were a twenty-minute flight from the beach where the Zodiacs dropped us. We landed near the top of the falls and went for a short hike. Some of the brave among us even went for a swim in one of the many rock pools.
Sandra went on one of the Zodiac expeditions through the mangroves of the Hunter River and its tributaries.
