Today I joined the lucky winners of our Hapag-Lloyd Cruises competition, Meriol and Colin Matthews, on board the lovely Europa in Sydney for an extensive  ship’s tour and elegant lunch. It wasn’t the best of weather – humid and rather overcast, but the ship looked pretty impressive against the CBD backdrop, docked at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay.

Dubbed the “world’s most beautiful yacht”, Europa is undeniably sleek, elegant and eye catching, boasting some impressive facilities including a pool with a retractable roof,  a golf simulator and permanent golf pro, and a Dieter Muller restaurant. It also has a rather unique feature which may raise a few eyebrows…..but I will save that for my blog next week!

The ship’s tour, hosted by a crew member called Claudia, ended at The Restaurant where we enjoyed a leisurely three-course lunch with wine and top notch European style silver service. There’s a gallery for anyone who’d like to see some images, and tune in next Tuesday for my blog which will go into more detail about this very German of European ships.
