Oceania plans first cruise visits to Eden, Newcastle and Cooktown

Oceania Cruises has announced it will visit 12 new destinations over the next two years, including three ports in regional Australia.

As part of the line’s 2015/16 Winter Collection, Oceania will visit New South Wales’ coastal town of Eden and metropolitan city, Newcastle. The line will also visit Queensland’s, Cooktown.

The first visit to Eden will be made on 24 February 2016, during a 33-day Papeete to Auckland cruise aboard Marina.

During the cruise, the ship will also make an inaugural visit to Norfolk Island.

Meanwhile, visits to Cooktown and Newcastle will be made on 3 May and 8 May during a 36-day Shanghai to Sydney cruise.

During the 2015/16-period, Oceania will also make inaugural visits to Boracay Island in the Philippines; Gisborne, New Zealand; Sanya, China; and Raroia in French Polynesia.

Overall, the line will sail on 27 new itineraries, including Regatta’s two new Amazon River cruises and four new voyages that cross the Panama Canal.

Insignia will travel on a 180-day Around the World cruise departing on 4 January 2016. The cruise will visit over 80 destinations including Darwin, Cooktown, Cairns, Townsville, Newcastle, Sydney and Hobart.

Nautica will travel on a series of eight new itineraries in Asia and South Africa, such as the 35-day voyage from Hong Kong to Istanbul.

Marina will set sail on seven new itineraries exploring French Polynesia, Fiji, Samoa Islands, Australia and New Zealand.

And Riviera will spend the winter months in the Caribbean on seven- to- 14-day eastern and western cruises.
