Costa Cruises is introducing a new program where guests can replace crew for a day.

Costa Cruises has come up with a wacky plan on for of its ships, where guests who are part of the line’s loyalty program can opt to spend a day in a crew member’s position while the crew member becomes a guest.

To be called “ViceVersa”, Costa says the program will only be available to its loyal CostaClub members on board four departures of Costa Luminosa, Costa Favolosa and Costa Deliziosa.

Although to some it may seem like the last thing to want to do while on holiday, Costa Cruises says “ViceVersa” was first introduced on board Costa Deliziosa’s Costa Club departure in November 2010 and was successful among passengers who were keen to get involved with the special activities.

In the crew roles, CostaClub members will be supervised and trained by the Cruise Director, will wear real uniforms with a special logo, and will get to see all the behind-the-scenes goings on that they may never have noticed before.

Would you trade places with a crew member while taking a cruise ship holiday?
