Norwegian Cruise Line CEO, Kevin Sheehan and members of Norwegian’s Board of Directors gathered at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany for Norwegian Getaway’s official Keel laying ceremony on 30 October.
Mr Sheehan and members of the Board of Directors laid a traditional “lucky coin” down before the first 350-tonne block was placed.
The first of 73 blocks that will comprise the 146,600 gross-tonne ship was lifted into the building dock which will house the construction expected to reach completion in just over 12-months.
